Staging Homes to Sell & to Live!
When I decided to upgrade the kids beds to a super sized bunk bed, for super sized sleepovers, we lost valuable space under the beds. This happened to be the home to our very valuable Nerf guns (in our kids opinion).
As a Home Stager and a Mom, I'm always looking for new ways to improve our home and storage system. Being a city-girl from a country in Europe, you BET I know small spaces! This time I had to tackle the Nerf-gun situation. Ugh.. I had recently received a tip from a friend on how they resolved their issue. The solution they came up with was displaying them on pegboards. I have always been a fan of using vertical space and this seemed perfect! What you see in the pictures is what I came up with. I decided on a pop of color, and hung two boards above each other. I went with metal boards for more durability. Just make sure if you decide to do this, that you find the studs in the wall for a stronger hold.
One of my kids was kind enough to model for me in the picture, sitting at the also new cafe style hang-out space in their room. We were going back and forth about whether we should do desks or not. They do their homework at a homework station in the kitchen, where they keep book bags and others school related things, so it didn't make sense to me to have desks in their room where they only will be collecting clutter. However, a charge/snack table is a nice upgrade in this newly middle school space.
